General Secretary of the National Assembly - Bui Van Cuong said: Members of the National Assembly proposed the Government to increase the base salary from 1.49 million dong to 1.8 million dong.
Some comments found that the Government's submission to the National Assembly to increase the base salary to 1.8 million VND and the implementation time from July 1, 2023 is four years away from the previous salary increase (from July 2019). This leads to people receiving salaries from the state budget facing many difficulties, especially in the education and health sector, civil servants including commune level.
"Currently, the desire of salaried persion is to propose the Government to adjust the base salary increase earlier, from January 1, 2023, contributing to ensuring the life of salaried person" - summary from 11 opinions discussed by the National Assembly deputies.
Minister of Home Affairs - Pham Thi Thanh Tra said that the proposal to increase the base salary from 1.49 million VND/month to 1.8 million VND/month is very reasonable, creating new motivations and reducing the situation of civil servants resigning. The adjustment level of about 20.8% is gradually approaching the reform of salary policy.
The most recent adjustment to increase the base salary was from July 1, 2019, increasing from VND 1.39 million to VND 1.49 million. Accordingly, civil servants with a university degree who have just started working (earning a salary of grade 1 and the coefficient salary of 2.34) will receive a salary of 3,486,600 VND.
